When the warm weather comes so do all the bugs, since my childrn are always out playing in the yard I need a good way to get rid of the insects without using chemicals. This insect killer lamp works by attracting the bugs to a blue light and zapping them with an electrical current when they come in contact with the high voltage metal grid of wire that surrounds the light. The surrounding cover is made of plastic and help protect against contact with the grid and lets the bugs in but not out.
I purchased this product to use by the front door of my house to prevent buts from entering my home. It works by plugging the electric cord into a standard outlet and has a round metal ring on the top for hanging purposes. For it small size it covers a large area of 560 square feet of its surrounding area to get rid of flying insects including mosquitos, flies, moths, and or any other insect that can fit through the outter case. It can be used for an extended period of time without having to worry about it getting home or overheating, its safe to use indoors as well as outdoors. The outter case opens up by unscrewing 4 philips head screws making cleaning out the dead bugs inside super easy.
Using this product has really helped me eliminate a ton of insects, its not to large so it doesnt take up much room. Its lite in weight and very powerful for its size, the only thing that I dislike about this product is that its not waterproof. If you are using it for outdoor purposes it can not be left out during wet weather. Other then that it definitely gets the job done and functions exactly as it should.
